The
Chitralekha Dance Academy
was founded in 1980 by Kalashri Chitralekha Patnaik for the
purpose of disseminating Odissi Classical Dance and Music and today is widely recognized
for maintaining and preserving the sanctity and purity of form, style, and technique. The
Academy specializes in the practical and theoretical aspects of Odissi dance and provides solo, duet,
and group performances for students achieving the traditional repertoire collection which
eventually leads to the Manchaprabesha, or graduation performance. In
addition to Odissi Dance and Music, the CDA also provides instruction in yoga through the
medium of classical dance, folk and film dance and tabla.

children aged five and up.

Private, and At-Home classes.
Available courses of study include:
Odissi Dance

and Indian Percussion (Tabla
and Pakhawaj)
Film and Folk Dance Choreography, and Yoga through Indian
Classical Dance.
